The Nanotechnology group was formed at Experimental Physics department, help by prof. Valentyn Smyntyna, in 2003. The main goal of the group was development of international scientific collaboration with EU academic and research organizations, participation in international projects and stimulating of knowledge transfer and experience exchange in the field of nanoscience, solid state physics and application of nanomaterials .

The group is involved in education and research activities, implemented in Odessa National I.I. Mechnikov University. The main priorities of the group are a training of early stage researchers, supervising of BSc, MSc and PhD theses and publishing of scientific papers in peer reviewed journals
